Symbolic interactionism was an idea developed by the Sociologists Herbert Mead and his Charles Coolly and later defined by Herbert Blumer. It is the unique means of interaction that occurs between individuals; this comes from the fact that people behaviours. This makes them respond in accordance to their personalized interpretation of other people's actions rather than on the actual intentions. These interpretations come from social interactions and are in turn profoundly influenced by the meaning an individual places on them; this meaning is also influenced by the environment that surrounds an individual. Blumer borrowed this from the theory of John Dewey's concept of understand human beings in relation to their environments.

Cooley called it ''Looking Glass Self''. This means that we pick and discard characters and behaviours based on the reaction that a third –party places on them.  This way; a child learns to perceive himself as the others do and this leads to an identity of oneself. There are three agreed upon principles of this theory, based on the foundation and basis of this theory.

1. Meaning

This states that the reaction of a human being on something has a relation to the meaning he places on such a thing. This shows that personalized interpretation of something is of great importance and can affect a subsequent behaviour towards a related subject. It also emphasizes that there should not be a generalized attached meaning as individuals derive their own unique interpretation based on their experiences.

2. Social Interaction

Self concepts develop from social interactions with others; it places emphasis on the role of culture and social norms in influencing the processes; it is through interaction with the symbols we had previously attached meanings to that we create a defined relationship whether positive or negative.

3. Language

This is the process through which the previously attached meaning is then remodified in an individual's unique interpretative process that uses in dealing with like subjects. In this situation, the individual first internally creates a meaning then relates it to how other people deals with such before deciding on his own way of handling the issue (Herbert, 1969).

In interpersonal relationships, people place different meanings to situations and end up acting on them according to how they best understood it, this difference can cause conflict if the other party also ascribed their own meaning and are not realizing what they initially expected to have.

Personality of President Barrack Obama

Obama has an amazing combination of a Liberal, Social personality crowned with a highly ambitious Leadership profile. These three personalities can be related to his roots, and social standing coupled with his experience as a mixed parentage child; growing up in a conservative environment at that time. He is considerate and very charming and prefers dialogue over violence in solving problems. He gets motivation by the need for achievement and making a legacy and not necessarily by the need for ultimate power. Obama's personality was evidently shaped by the circumstances under which he was brought up by a caring Grandmother who instilled admirable societal value. He must have leaned the importance of being nice to get things done your way from growing up in a racist society (Blair, 2005).

The personality of Donald Trump

Donald Trump comes from a family of business magnets and was quick enough to fit well into the business world. This sets him apart from most people born into privileged families; as he never sat back waiting to inherit, but he instead set out to build his own business empire. He is a highly motivated and an Ambitious individual who is Independent and likes doing things in his own way. He has a high initiative for success and is also a very artistic individual; as it is important to incorporate artistic abilities into a business empire to see its growth.

There is an allegation that he also exhibits some tendencies of Compulsive Personality Disorder; this may be attributed to his family background and the people around whom he grew up. Very successful families have no room for excuses and failures; which explains why he is always quick to dismiss the participants of the famous ''Apprentice Show''. Trump's family background has a high influence on his personality; and is the true reflection of his current successes despite his previous failures, success usually breeds success.
